The Consular and Visa section is opened from 9:00-12:30 and 14:00-16:00 from Monday to Friday (except the Consulate closing days).
The online appointments are available for the following Consular services.
● Passport application
● Police certificate application
● All registrations - Birth, Marriage, and other registrations related to the family register, and registrations related to the nationality such as Loss of Japanese nationality
● Visa application for non-Japanese nationals to enter Japan, Re-entry permit extension for landing permit holders
You MUST make an appointment if you need to apply for your visa, Japanese passport and other matters in person.
You can make an appointment via our website below to visit us for applications.
NOTE: Bookings are not required to visit us to COLLECT your visa, passport and certificate after the application.

- For single entry visas, you must enter Japan within 3 months of the visa issue date. Accordingly, we will NOT accept any visa applications for departures that are more than 3 months away.
- The Consulate-General of Japan in Perth website provides information on the visa application process for the residents of WESTERN AUSTRALIA and accepts the visa applications from WA residents only. If you do not reside within our jurisdiction, please contact the Japanese Embassy or Consular that issues visas for your area. Visa applications from areas outside our jurisdiction may be declined.
