Visiting Japan (Japanese Visa information / requirements)

■ eVISA Online system (Single-Entry visa for Tourism Purpose ONLY)
 The Japan eVISA system
 

1. Visa Application Form 
       - Please fill out both pages. If the question does not apply to you, you may write "None" or "N/A".
       - Visa Application Form (Sample) (PDF) 

2．One Passport Standard Photograph
       - 4.5cm x 3.5cm
       - Taken within 6 months
       - Plain white background
       - On glossy photo paper

3．Passport
       - Your passport must remain valid duration of your stay in Japan.  

4．VEVO (Visa Status Confirmation from the Visa Entitlement Verification)
       - Online (VEVO) System 
       - Visa `Grant Notice' is NOT acceptable
       - If you hold a Bridging visa A, you need to apply for Bridging visa B before you lodge your Japan visa application.
       - If your current Australian visa is linked to your previous passport, please bring your previous passport
       - If you hold Australian tourist/visitor visa, we cannot accept your application. 

5．Flight Booking Confrmation or E-Ticket, including the following particulars;
       - Traveler's full name as a passenger
       - Full itinerary: Departure & Arrival date and time in and out of Japan
       - If you will not come back to Perth, please privide a typed explanation letter.
       - Payment of your flight ticket is not a requirement, however the flight must be confirmed . 
       - We are not responsible for tickets which may be unusable due to visa delay or refusal.

6．Proof of sufficient funds (Bank document), including the following particulars;
       - Full name
       - WA residential address
       - The last 3 months transaction history
       - The current balance (date within 1 month)
       - Have sufficient funds

       ※ If you are using your family member's bank documents, please also submit an official document describing your relation to the person (e.g. Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate)

7．Schedule of Stay  
       - Detailed schdule of stay describing daily activity plans 
       - or, Tour plan from the travel agent (Tour brochure / confirmation letter), if you join the tour

8．If you are visiting acquaintances/family member residing in Japan, followings are required;
       - A Letter of Invitation  from the person who lives in Japan
       - A copy of their passport photo page and a Japanese driver's licence
       - A copy of Japanese resident card (back & front) if the person who lives in Japan is non-Japanese.

 

NOTES;

• Australian tourist/visitor visa holder can only apply in their own country.
• The Consulate-General of Japan does not print out any documents for you.
• Documents will not be returned. If you need to keep your original documents, please bring the original and one copy.
• Additional documents may be required.
• Processing time is roughly 5 business days; however, it may take longer depending on the application. 
• There is NO priority processing service. Early preparation for visa application is highly recommended.
• Japan Visa is valid for 3 months from its issurance date.  Applicant must enter Japan within 3 months once visa is granted.
