Temporary Visa: Tourism


An appointment is required in advance, if you would like to apply for your visa IN PERSON.

In order to apply for a temporary visitor’s visa for tourism purposes for a stay not exceeding 90 days for Japan, applicants must provide all of the following documents:
 

REQUIREMENTS

    ※ Please do NOT staple the documents together. 
    ※ Applicants must print out & bring all of the visa requirements.

 
1. One completed visa application form pdf
  
         ※You must answer all the questions. If there is nothing to write for a particular question, please write "None" or "N/A".

2.One passport photo
       - 4.5cm x 3.5cm
       - Taken within 6 months
       - Plain white background
       - On glossy photo paper

3.A valid passport
     ※Your passport must remain valid during the period of stay in Japan.  

4.Your current Australian Visa (VEVO) :Visa Status Confirmation from the Visa Entitlement Verification
    Online (VEVO) System 
       -Access VEVO website and bring the printed VEVO information as your latest visa status
       -Visa `Grant Notice' is NOT acceptable
       -If you hold a Bridging visa A, you need to change it to Bridging visa B beforehand.
       
         ※If your current Australian visa is linked to your previous passport, please bring it as well.
   ※If you hold a tourist/visitor visa, we cannot accept your application
         ※If you hold a Bridging visa "A", you need to change it to Bridging visa "B" beforehand.


5. Flight booking confrmation (full flight details from an accredited travel agent or airline) including the following particulars;
      - Traveler's full name as a passenger
      - Departure & Arrival dates and time in and out of Japan
      
- If you will not come back to Perth, please privide a typed explanation letter.
  
         ※We do not require the purchase of tickets, but we do require a confirmed reservation.
            We are not responsible for tickets which may be unusable due to the delay or denial of a visa.

6.Proof of sufficient funds of visa applicant 
       - Provide your Saving Account (recent 3 months statement or transaction record), and
       - Your full name, a current balance & WA residential address should be appeared as the account holder, and  
       - Have sufficient funds

  ※If you are minor with no bank statement or do not have much money, alternatively, the following  documents will be acceptable.
     - Partner's bank statement & Marriage Certificate
     - Parent's bank statement &  Birth Certificate

7. Your schedule in Japan
      - "Schedule of Staypdf 
       ※Detailed schdule of stay describing daily activity plans 
      - Tour plan from the travel agent (Tour brochure / confirmation letter), if you join the tour

8. If you visit your relative residing in Japan –     ※E-mail letter is not acceptable.
   a) an invitation letter from the person, including the person's name, signature and address, and
   b) a copy of his / her passport photo page and a Japanese driver's licence, and
   c) a copy of Japanese resident card (back & front) must be submitted as well, if your relative is non-Japanese.

 

NOTES;

  • A person staying in Australia with a tourist/visitor visa can apply only in her/his own country.
  • The Consulate-General of Japan will not print out your documents.
  • We Documents must be original or certified copies.  
  • Documents will not be returned. If you need to keep your original documents, please bring the original and one copy.
  • Additional documents may be required if necessary.
  • Processing time is roughly 5 business days; however, it may take longer depending on the situation. 
  • There is NO priority processing service. Therefore, early preparation for visa application is highly recommended.
  • Visas are valid for 3 months from the date of issue. Applicants may apply for visas 3 months prior to entering Japan.
