2025 Autumn Conferment Ceremony for the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays, upon Mr Shinichi Otsuki

The 2026 Autumn Conferment Ceremony for the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays, upon Mr Shinichi Otsuki was held on February 13 at the Consul-General’s Official Residence. The award was given in recognition of Mr Otsuki’s outstanding contributions in the provision of distinguished social welfare to his fellow Japanese community residing in Western Australia.
Many people attended the ceremony, including members of Support Net "NIJI NO KAI," and people from other local Japanese community groups.
Consul-General Karimata, in his conguratulatory remarks, expressed his respect for Mr Otsuki’s many years of contributions to the Japanese community in the Perth region, including medical and aged-care support as well as assistance for senior citizens and families with children. He also conveyed his deep appreciation and respect for Mr Otsuki’s role as a bridge between Japan and Australia, just as reflected in the name of "NIJI NO KAI"(Nijinokai means Rainbow Association).
In Mr Otsuki’s acceptance remarks, he spoke of the founding of Support Net "NIJI NO KAI" in the year 2000, marking its 26th year this year. He expressed his appreciation to the board and other members for their activities and cooperation on a day to day basis, and upon which the group is built, and expressed his commitment to continue with his volunteer activities to the benefit of the local Perth community.
