EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Housekeeper, Official Residence

The Consulate-General of Japan is currently seeking a professional and committed housekeeper to fulfil a range of domestic duties for our official residence in Peppermint Grove. This will be a full time position with normal hours from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm with occasional overtime work for evening events.
Candidate must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Principal Responsibilities
  • A range of general housekeeping duties (cleaning, vacuuming, event setup etc.)
  • Laundry (washing, ironing etc.)
  • General errands
  • Table service
  • Tea service
  • Kitchenhand duties
  • Wait staff role in the event of large receptions
  • Receiving phone calls and visitors
  • Other responsibilities as required
Selection Criteria
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience working in a similar role for a private residence or similar service environment will be highly regarded
  • Positive work attitude and high work standards
  • Japanese language skills welcome but not essential
