Now accepting applications for the JENESYS 2018 Programme from students currently enrolled in universities located in Western Australia.
ABOUT JENESYS PROGRAMME 2018
The JENESYS programmes are the initiative of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and began in 2007. JENESYS 2018 is offering two study tours to Japan from 2nd to 11th December and from 9th to 18th December 2018. A total of 30 places are offered to Australian citizens currently enrolled as university students.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Perth is now accepting applications for the JENESYS 2018 Programme from students currently enrolled in universities located in Western Australia. For students attending universities in other states and territories, please contact the consulate-general of Japan in your state/territory as below:
ACT applicants – Embassy of Japan
NSW and NT applicants – Consulate-General of Japan, Sydney
VIC, SA and TAS applicants – Consulate-General of Japan, Melbourne
QLD applicants – Consulate-General of Japan, Brisbane
WA applicants – Consulate-General of Japan, Perth
Programme Details
Theme A: ‘Disaster prevention, reconstruction from the disaster’
Duration: 9 nights 10 days (arrival in Japan on 2 December and departure from Japan on 11 December 2018)
Number of participants: 10
Programme locations: Tokyo and Fukushima

Theme B: ‘Building peaceful societies, history and culture’
Duration: 9 nights 10 days (arrival in Japan on 9 December and departure from Japan on18 December 2018)
Number of participants: 20
Programme locations: Tokyo and Hiroshima

Application Procedure for WA Applicants only:
- A correctly completed application with a current photo and a scanned copy of your passport must be submitted to info@pt.mofa.go.jp by 5:00pm (AWST) on Monday 8 October 2018.
*Please note that incomplete applications will not be accepted.
*Please note that applications received after the deadline will not be accepted. - Short-listed applicants will be required to attend an interview at the Consulate-General of Japan in Perth during business hours on Tuesday 16 October 2018 (TBC).
- Please note that only successful applicants will be notified of their results by Monday 22 October 2018. Due to the sheer number of applications, we are not able to provide individual feedback.
