Bunbury 3 Waters Running Festival
2018/4/13

On Sunday, April 8, 5 runners from Bunbury’s sister city, Setagaya Ward in Tokyo, participated in and completed the annual Bunbury Marathon (1 full marathon, 4 half marathon). The men’s marathon was won by Japan’s Gaku Abukawa. Spanning more than 25 years, the Bunbury-Setagaya Sister City relationship enjoys active cultural exchange including student exchange and their ‘marathon exchange’ which sees runners from Bunbury participating in the Setagaya 246 Half Marathon, and Setagaya runners participating in the Bunbury Marathon.
The 5 runners from Setagaya were introduced together with Consul-General Hirayama at the presentation ceremony, where the cultural exchange between Bunbury and Setagaya was also introduced and explained to the crowd.
