Conferment of the Order of Rising Sun, Silver Rays upon Mr. Shinichi Otsuki

On November 3rd, 2025, the Government of Japan announced the conferment of the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays, upon Mr. Shinichi Otsuki, in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the provision of distinguished social welfare to his fellow Japanese community residing in Western Australia. The Order is awarded by His Majesty the Emperor of Japan.
Mr. Otsuki has worked for over 25 years in Perth and surrounding areas as a volunteer, and is currently the President of Support Net "NIJI NO KAI," a non-profit, Western Australian government registered welfare provider. As a core and founding member of the organization which was established to provide information and support in medical treatment and care to Japanese people living in the Perth metro area, since taking up the role as President, Mr. Otsuki has shown leadership in providing support for the elderly and families with small children. His work has contributed greatly to the betterment of welfare services available to the Japanese community living in Western Australia.
The Consulate-General of Japan offers its congratulations and sincere appreciation to Mr. Shinichi Otsuki for his exceptional efforts and achievements. His many contributions will continue to benefit the ties of both countries profoundly for many years to come.
