Yuka Sato, Jeremy Abbott and WA Figure Skating Club Reps visiting Consul-General (June 2)

On June 3, the Winter Spectacular ice skating show was held at Perth’s Cockburn Ice Arena, featuring Japanese Olympic Figure Skater and 1994 World Figure Skating Champion, Ms Yuka Sato, and America’s Jeremy Abbott, Sochi Winter Olympic Figure Skating Bronze medalist, together with young Perth local skaters.
This event was organized by the Western Australia Figure Skating Club. Yuka Sato performed for the crowd after the official opening, and was followed by a group performance by about 20 young skaters from Perth, before Jeremy Abbott rounded out the show with the final performance. Consul-General Hirayama took the opportunity to meet various people for the first time, including the WA Figure Skating Club President, Mayor of Cockburn City, Mr Logan Howlett, and Federal Member for Fremantle, Mr Josh Wilson. Consul-General Hirayama was delighted to experience a fantastic performance.
On June 2, the group paid a visit to the Japanese School in Perth and to the Consulate-General of Japan in Perth.
